In this hands-on session, you will assume the role of a supply chain manager working through a series of strategic planning decisions using the SAP Enterprise Inventory Optimization by SmartOps solution. The challenges will represent typically “hard” supply chain questions. For example:

• How should safety stock be balanced downstream vs. upstream?
• What is the inventory cost of delivering higher service levels to a given customer?
• How should inventory policies adjust to a change in raw material costs?
• …and others

As you work through each exercise, you and your colleagues will develop better information and reach better conclusions based on facts rather than trusting in simple intuition or rules-of-thumb. As a group, participants will use their knowledge and intuition to discuss possible response to the scenarios and then compare those answers to the SAP Enterprise Inventory Optimization recommendations.
